Things To Do On Kauai

Zipline Tours: This is true adventure and a great way to see areas of the island that are not accessible in any other way.  Enjoy descending a lush tropical mountain side via a series of  breathtaking ziplines.

Tubing Tours: Traverse Lihue's old sugar plantation into Kauai's pristine, emerald green interior on an inflatable tube. Witness Kauai's spectacular engineering feats as you float down a tropical waterway consisting of open ditches, tunnels and flumes dating back to the 1870s.

ATV Tours: Hop on the hottest and newest All Terrain Vehicle available and go to places more spectacular than you have ever imagined. Some ATV tours traverse private lands not otherwise open to the public.

Movie Tours: Tour operators take you to all of the famous movie locations on Kauai - which are quite numerous. You will visit filming sites of famous movies such as: Jurassic Park, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Donovan's Reef, Outbreak, Gilligan's Island, Fantasy Island, Blue Hawaii and South Pacific.

Luaus: There are many different luaus on the island for you to choose from, all including traditional food and Hawaiian entertainment.  This activity is a must for first time visitors.

Golf Courses: There is a full range of golf courses on the island including the world class links in Princeville.

Boat Tours: This is the best way to explore the magical Na Pali Coast. Zodiac tours, catamaran cruises, and whale watching tours leave from Hanalei, Lihue, Poipu and Port Allen. Humpback whales are normally visible in our waters from late December to late March.

Surfing: The north shore of Kaua'i is a winter surfing mecca; and in the summer, Poipu Beach on the south shore and our west shore beaches produce the best waves.  Kalapaki Beach and Hanalei Bay (spring, summer, and fall seasons) offer gentle waves for beginners.  Lessons are available at these locations.

Snorkeling: There are several great places to snorkel including Anini, Ke'e  and Tunnels Beaches on the north shore or Poipu Beach on the south shore.

Kayaking: This activity can be enjoyed on several Kauai rivers and in the ocean during the summer months. On our east shore, the Wailua River is the most popular location for guided river kayaking excursions. Hanalei Bay has several kayak rental locations for self guided tours up the river or into the bay.

Helicopter Tours: This is the only way most people can see the magnificent beauty of Kauai's remote interior. Tours leave from Princeville Airport, Lihue, and Port Allen.

Hiking: Kauai is a hiker's paradise.  The Waimea Canyon and Koke’e State Park offer numerous hikes from easy to the most strenuous. .At the end of the road at Ke'e Beach is the Na Pali Trail and trail head to the ancient Kalalau Valley and the Na Pali Coastline. Day hikers enjoy hikes to Hanakapiai Beach or the longer trek to Hanakapiai Falls.
